The first is carbon steel. Carbon steel is one of the most common types of constructional steel, containing not more than 2.11% carbon and small amounts of other elements such as molybdenum, cobalt and chromium. Carbon steel is widely used in the production of channel steel due to its good workability and strength.

Next is low alloy steel. Low-alloy steel contains steel with no more than 0.25% carbon and usually contains other alloying elements such as silicon, manganese, chromium and molybdenum. These elements not only improve the strength and hardness of the steel, but also help to improve corrosion resistance and toughness.

Once again, there is stainless steel. Stainless steel is an alloy steel with excellent corrosion resistance in which the element chromium is usually present at a level of 10.5% or more. Other metal elements such as nickel, molybdenum, and titanium are also often added to stainless steel. The material properties of stainless steel allow channel steel products to be used in rusty or corrosive environments.
